Avnet Silica and EBV Elektronik Receive Nexperia Billionaires Awards

Two Avnet EMEA semiconductor business units recognized by leading chip maker for excellent performance in 2018

Poing, Germany, 9th September 2019 – Avnet Silica and EBV Elektronik, both regional business units of Avnet (NASDAQ: AVT), announced today they have received Billionaires Awards from Nexperia, a global semiconductor specialist in discretes, logic and MOSFETs. The two Avnet businesses were honoured by Nexperia during the manufacturer’s Billionaires event, held recently in Hamburg, Germany.

Avnet Silica was awarded a silver Billionaires Award as the distributor with the highest number of parts sold in EMEA in 2018, with shipments of more than 3.1 billion Nexperia devices. EBV Elektronik earned its Billionaires Award by selling almost 3 billion units in 2018. At the event, Nexperia also celebrated the 50-year anniversary of the SOT23 small-outline-transistor device with Avnet Silica and EBV Elektronik and presented a special ‘Nexperia SOT23 Award’ to EBV as the distributor that sold the highest number of SOT23 units in 2018.
